Software Programmer

Your daily job and responsibilities

  1. Collaborating with the IT team on the development and maintenance of network infrastructure.

  2. Running diagnostic tests on the communication between computers, routers, modems, and servers.

  3. Optimizing server capacity and performance to keep up with demand in network traffic.

  4. Developing data security, backup, archiving, and retrieval procedures.

  5. Training junior IT staff and providing on-site field technicians with remote technical support.

  6. Enhancing network security, as well as documenting network processes, repairs, and cabling layouts.

  7. Keeping informed of advancements in network infrastructure and technologies.

  8. Troubleshoot technical issues over the phone and via secure screen-share, aiding in product research, analyzing configuration and debug outputs, following up on open tickets, and acting as a point of contact. 

  9. Responsible for initial triage of incoming client issues and requests.

  10. Document actions in ticketing system to effectively communicate information to both internal resources and externally to customers.

  11. Perform basic troubleshooting to diagnose common network problems, using fundamental TCP/IP networking skills.

  12. Assist SOC staff with lab systems configurations.

  13. Update open ticket status for both Engineering and other technicians within the ticketing software application.

Dávid is Chief Software Lead in MAKERS and one of the co-owners. He is a big fan of CNCF/cloud technologies and is active in multiple technology meetups (such an IoT Bratislava, Kubernetes, etc.).

Infrastructure Team is responsible for working with containers/orchestration tools/automation/CNCF cloud applications to get our solutions to our customers

Relevant skills, knowledge and experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information science, or specialization in network engineering OR equivalent experience.

  • Certified Cisco, CompTIA, or Microsoft network professional preferred.

  • A minimum of two years' experience as a NOC technician, or similar.

  • Advanced knowledge of network technologies, connectivity, protocols, and security.

  • Superb analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Great interpersonal, communication, and collaboration abilities.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • On-call availability outside of business hours to resolve urgent network issues.
