Your daily job and responsibilities

  1. Research and design of new updates and upgrades to our Linux-based Edge Gateway and its companion components. Creating designs both in 2D and 3D, electrical and mechanical schematics, preparing BOMs, and selecting supply chain.

  2. Integrating various types of distributed energy resources, e.g. solar and/or battery inverters, battery storage systems, EV car chargers, power meters, and sometimes also HVAC systems into our Edge GW.

  3. Preparing CAD installation drawings to support edge gateway deployment.

  4. Occasionally running various test scenarios to test software drivers and firmware of the Edge GW, testing new functionality.

  5. Maintaining our Hardware laboratory in spic and span conditions, ready to connect new devices at any time.

Peter vereš

(Hardware and Systems Integration Lead)

Peter is one of the co-owners and Hardware / Integration Lead on the customer side. With years of experience in home automation systems and systems integration, he drives hardware part of our solutions. 

The HDW & Sites Team is responsible for the design, prototyping, and preparation of the hardware parts of  our IoT solutions by integrating various technologies and communication protocols so that the final solution could be assembled by partners and installed in the field.

Relevant skills, knowledge and experience

  • MUST HAVE

    • Knowledge of LV electrical systems (<1000 VAC) and components like relays, circuit breakers, transformers, power meters, and current transformers.

    • Electrical engineer craftsmanship

    • Understanding of electrical drawings

    • CAD software proficient

    • Basic LAN networking knowledge

    • Ability to work independently, problem-solving and team player

 

  • SHOULD HAVE 

    • Knowledge or experience with Energy Management Systems and Distributed Energy Resources

    • Knowledge or experience with Smart Building technologies

    • Knowledge of home/industry automation communication protocols (Modbus, Mbus, OCPP, CANbus, serial protocols in general)

    • At leas basic knowledge of Linux OS

 

  • NICE TO HAVE

    • 3D printing design skills

    • PCB design skills

    • Experience with electrical systems design

    • Experience with electrical laboratory equipment (multimeter, oscilloscope, variable power supply, load simulator, …)

    • Understanding of electrical distribution networks

    • At least basic knowledge of Python, Django framework and Bash
